Movies in the Canyon

Movies in the Canyon

Make it a Date: Movies in the Canyon

By Amanda Marquez

El Paso Live has begun its free movies series every Friday and Saturday night at McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Now students can catch a great movie on a giant screen right as the sunsets, between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Concessions are available to purchase for just a few bucks. Don’t forget to bring a light jacket or blanket to keep warm with family and friends. Enjoy a night out with friends and family on a budget. The series will run through Oct. 1.

According to elpasolive.com, fans voted for favorites like “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “The Jungle Book” and “Brave.” My personal favorites include “Zootopia and “Inside Out.” Anyone with a love for fun, animated movies can go see these two movies and kick off Fall Intersession with a night under the stars.

Schedule:

Aug. 26 – “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

Aug. 27 – “Star Trek: Into Darkness”

Sept. 2 – “Selena”

Sept. 3 – “La Bamba”

Sept. 9 – “Nacho Libre”

Sept. 10 – “School of Rock”

Sept. 16 – “Guardians of the Galaxy”

Sept. 17 – “Captain America Civil War”

Sept. 23 – “The Jungle Book”

Sept. 24 – “Brave”

Sept. 30 – “Zootopia”
