Aztec softball makes playoffs again

The softball season heated up to lead the Lady Aztecs to the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.
“Going to playoffs is being excitingly calm, but a hurricane of poise,” said Softball Head Coach Aaron Luna.
For some of the girls, this is their third year going to playoffs, and for others it’s their first taste of postseason. Overall the whole team is thrilled with this experience, knowing that no matter what, the girl next to them on the field loves them and has their back.
“We have our ups and downs but at the end of the day we are family and I love every single one of those girls,” said sophomore Kassandra Valdez.
The first game was at Odessa High School against Frenship High School. The Lady Aztecs came back without a trophy, but worked hard during the game. Luna and Assistant Coach Sergio Perez look forward to improving over the offseason and plan to come back stronger for next year.
